About AK Exercise Physiology
Alex is an Exercise Physiologist and movement coach who helps people rebuild confidence and physical capacity through structured, progressive exercise.
Meet Alex, An Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a coaching-led approach
Alex’s work in exercise and human movement began informally in the mid-2000s, helping friends use indoor and outdoor exercise equipment with confidence. He formalised this path in 2008 by completing a Diploma in Fitness and developing a more therapeutic, movement-focused coaching approach.
In 2010, Alex completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage and spent several years working with desk-based workers managing persistent pain and loss of function. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2016, while expanding his practice across the Sydney community.
This work shaped a clear perspective: lasting progress comes from understanding how people adapt to load, stress, and movement in everyday life. That principle continues to guide Alex’s clinical and coaching approach.
Alex is currently completing a PhD at the University of Sydney, focused on how structured exercise can help prevent or delay complications associated with osteoarthritis.

Alex's Long-Term Vision
Over the next decade, my goal is to continue expanding my practice so I can support a broader community of people to move with confidence and build lasting physical capacity — not just feel better temporarily, but function better over time.
I aim to create an environment that simplifies movement and exercise, removing unnecessary complexity while applying clear, evidence-based principles. By focusing on fundamentals, context, and progression, I want exercise to feel more accessible, purposeful, and achievable for people at every stage of life.

Working across a range of physical backgrounds
Over time, Alex’s interest in movement expanded beyond traditional rehabilitation and gym-based exercise. Through lifting really heavy things and training across multiple martial arts disciplines, including karate, boxing, and judo, he developed a deeper understanding of how movement, load, and skill interact under real-world demands.
Today, Alex works with people from a wide range of physical backgrounds — from those rebuilding basic strength and daily function, to individuals managing ongoing muscle and joint symptoms, to people training for more demanding physical pursuits. The focus is not age or experience, but helping each person build the capacity required for what they want to do.
